The biggest practical difference right now is availability. You can buy a STIIIZY battery and compatible pods from the same menu. PAX pods are available too, but a reusable PAX Era battery is not currently listed in Accessories, so you need to own compatible Era hardware already or source it separately.

How the STIIIZY pod system works
STIIIZY separates the hardware from the cannabis product. The battery is the reusable device. The pod holds the cannabis extract and is replaced when empty.
Instead of screwing onto a standard threaded connection, STIIIZY pods fit proprietary STIIIZY hardware. A STIIIZY battery does not become a general-purpose vape battery for cartridges from unrelated brands.
STIIIZY Pro
Pro is the smaller configurable device in the current lineup, with adjustable voltage settings and rechargeable hardware.
STIIIZY Pro XL
Pro XL is the larger version, built for longer battery life while keeping adjustable voltage settings, preheat and USB-C charging. This is the model on our menu as "XL Pro Battery," available in several colors at $20.
STIIIZY BAR
The BAR is a rechargeable dual-pod device that holds two STIIIZY pods at once. It uses a 420mAh battery with four voltage levels, three airflow settings, button or draw activation, preheat, USB-C charging, an LED display and two pod chambers.
There is one compatibility rule worth knowing: the BAR works with 1g STIIIZY pods, and 0.5g pods are not compatible. If you run it with a single cannabis pod, the second chamber takes the supplied Proxy Pod placeholder.
That matters for cost, because the cheapest STIIIZY pod on our menu is a 0.5g option that would not work with the BAR. The BAR is also not currently listed in our Accessories inventory, so treat it as part of the wider STIIIZY hardware ecosystem rather than something you can assume is on the shelf today.
A 2026 STIIIZY compatibility change to know about
This one matters if you already own older STIIIZY hardware or pods.
Current STIIIZY product listings for several devices, including Pro XL and BAR, carry the notice: for use only with pods sold after March 20, 2026.
So the old rule of thumb that any STIIIZY pod works with any STIIIZY battery is no longer safe. If either the device or the pods are older, check the exact packaging before buying rather than assuming compatibility across generations.
How the PAX Era system works
PAX Era uses the same broad reusable-battery-plus-pod idea, but it is a completely separate ecosystem. A PAX Era pod works with compatible PAX Era hardware. It does not fit a STIIIZY battery or a standard 510-thread battery.
PAX sells the Era Go as a simple entry device into the Era ecosystem, listed at $20 on PAX's own store, with USB-C charging and support for current Era pods.
PAX's catalog also includes 2g Era pod products, which gives the ecosystem a larger pod size than the STIIIZY products currently on our menu. That is a real difference if you would rather buy a larger pod than replace a smaller one more often.
Who makes the cannabis inside PAX pods in New York?
This is where the two brands are structurally different.
PAX is the hardware and pod-platform company, but New York PAX cannabis products are produced through a licensed New York processor. Current New York PAX product information identifies UrbanXtracts Inc. as the processor.
So a PAX pod is not one identical nationwide product made by PAX itself. The platform is PAX, while the regulated cannabis inside a New York product is tied to a licensed processor operating in this market. That is also why the actual New York package and Certificate of Analysis matter more than a description of a PAX pod you may have seen in another state. Are PAX and STIIIZY pods compatible?
No. They are separate proprietary ecosystems. A PAX Era pod will not fit a STIIIZY battery, and a STIIIZY pod will not fit a PAX Era device.
Buying the reusable battery therefore means choosing which family of replacement pods you will be able to use with it. That is the main buying decision.
